“Ulajh” is a heartwarming and thought-provoking drama that follows the journey of a young woman, Kavita (played by Deepika Padukone), who returns to her hometown in India after 15 years of living abroad.
Backstory:
Kavita’s parents, Ravi (played by Naseeruddin Shah) and Nalini (played by Tabu), had always been her rock, supporting her dreams and aspirations. However, when Kavita’s mother fell ill and passed away, Kavita’s father became withdrawn and lost his sense of purpose. Kavita, feeling guilty for not being able to be there for her parents during their difficult time, decides to return to India to reconnect with her roots and help her father heal.
Plot:
As Kavita settles back into her hometown, she begins to reconnect with old friends and rekindle her passion for photography. She also starts to help her father with his struggling business and tries to rebuild their bond. Along the way, she meets a young boy, Rohan (played by Shahid Kapoor), who is struggling to come to terms with his own loss and grief.
